As you can guess, our emphasis on Eco-minded wood products surpasses all other goals. We only use eco-salvaged wood, and are inplementing a pulpwood buy-back program for the northwest's pulp mills, to use that in our products. We also salvage from developers and building sites.
BE ECO, BUY ECOCENTRIC.

Our Company

Even though EcoCentric is a small business, we have an ability to expand to fill the need for our products. We have been developing this line for the past five years, and have only in 1999 been able to produce enough for the wholesale market, so please remember that these products take TIME to produce, some up to one year. For most custom products, we can't cut the log until you order, and for specialties we must search out the logs, mill them and then they have to dry. But don't worry, we already have quite a stockpile, both at the shop and in the field, to produce many of any item.

Our operation is rugged, rustic, and simple. We start with stumps up to six feet wide of solid burl, or logs up to four feet wide of curl and mill them with a Husquvarna 2101 chainsaw equipped with either a 36" or a 58" bar, or if needed our nice 84" double power head Cannon bar. Then we stack the boards with stickers (2x2's) between them in our kiln, a modified 40 foot semi truck container, and keep fans blowing 24 hours a day. Some of the spalted boards are very difficult to create and require constant maintenance to achieve the right look. So far we are the only company to produce this look. Then we finish the boards and surface them with a hand planer and a belt sander. Even on those big tables and doors. For carving we use a variety of handtools, mostly hook-knifes, chisels and adzes. Some of the products with the antiqued and weathered or 3-D looks require many hours of brushing with a coarse scrub-brush to clean and indent the surface. We are BY FAR a very unorthodox company with our techniques, and therefore can guarantee the ECOcentric look that no one else can.
